Dedicated believers with a vision for the future established the First Baptist Church, Sunnyside, Washington in April, 1901.  Originally a part of the Federated Church of Council City (before it became Sunnyside), First Baptist built its first sanctuary in 1908.  Those pioneers saw the need to be a foundation upon which future generations of believers could build. 

The members of First Baptist have been faithful to the vision and today continue to look to the future while striving to maintain a caring wirness for Christ in the present, and honoring the faith of those who came before. 

We are a people learning what it is to be members of the body of Christ -- united as brothers and sisters in Christ.  We are experiencing anew the love and forgiveness of Christ and His amazing power as we share our lives with one another and together reach out with Christ's love to our communities.

In a day when most people are strangers to each other, we seek to be your friend for the sake of Christ and His unconditional love.  We desire you as our friend in Christ and our heart is open to you.
