Dave and Kelly Charvet head up our Alpha Ministry.  We are affiliated with Alpha USA and have conducted four Alpha classes in the last four years.  There is no cost to Alpha.  However the evening dinner each week will cost about $3.00.  Email fbcsunnyside@earthlink.net for more info.

Alpha is an opportunity for anyone to explore the Christian faith in a relaxed, non-threatening manner over eleven, thought provoking weekly sessions. 

Alpha sessions begin with a meal at 6 p.m.  Then we have an informal time to get to know one another, for fun and brief announcements. 

The primary part of the evening is with a video teaching by Nicky Gumbel (love the English accent), and small group meetings to discuss the topic we have heard that night or to share what are important questions about Christianity.  Topics covered are: Who is Jesus?  Why did Jesus Die?  Why and How do I Pray?  What does the Holy Spirit Do?  etc.

Listen, learn, discuss and discover.  And ask anything.  Alpha is a place where no question is too simple or too hostile.  There is no charge for the Alpha course, although you will be invited to donate toward the cost of the meal.     

Who is Alpha for?
	Those wanting to investigate Christianity. New Christians. Those who feel that they have never really got going as a Christian. Newcomers to the church. Those who want to brush-up on the basics of Christianity. Those who are seeking to know God better.

The Basics...

The Alpha Course is a fifteen session program which runs over eleven weeks to provide a practical introduction to the Christian faith.              It offers the opportunity to explore the meaning of life.

Questions, questions, questions... What is the point of life?... What happens when we die?... What relevance does Jesus have for our lives today?... How do we deal with guilt?... we all have questions.
